How to grow wheatgrass

Using a jar or small bucket, soak approximately 1 lb. of wheat berries for 12 hour. Place cheese cloth or screen over the container and secure with a rubber band. Rinse and drain
a few times, then set to drain tilted upside down using a appropriate location, sink etc..
Let seeds sprout until tail is 1/8 long, this can take 1-2 days.
Moving outside, take a nursery flat and spread out soil mixture even 2 inches thick
Do not plant seed to dense, just a single layer so seeds are just barely touching. Over
crowding can cause mold. A tip is to spread a thin layer of sand over the top of the seed
to prevent molding. Place paper towel or news paper over tray of planted seed and sprinkle with water. This will keep the seeds wet and block out the sunlight. Place
tray in a warm well ventilated area. For hot climates it would be the opposite. Water
each to every other day depending on your climate. Once the grass blades are an inch
or so high remove paper towel cover and water as needed. Wheat grass can take 10-14
days to grow. Good luck!
